Essay 2-02a: My Language Learning Experience

I had learned three languages: Japanese, English, and Spanish. I'm Japanese, so I learned Japanese of course. Japanese usually have to learn English. So I had learned for many years. When I entered a university, I chose Spanish from Spanish, German, and French. I tell you my language learning experience below this paragraph.

I learned Japanese in elementary school for the first time. I learned hiragana, katakana, and kanji. My teacher taught me order of writing. It was difficult for me at that time. In junior high school, I learned classical Chinese, Japanese classics, poem, and novel. Classical Chinese and Japanese classics are very difficult because they were written kanji and old Japanese. I had trouble to understand them. I have trouble even now, too. Reading thought into poem is not easy. However, poem is good for my life. I like reading novel. It is not difficult for me to read. In high school, I learned essay plus junior high school. In university, I learned express of Japanese. I’m not good at writing sentence, so I didn’t like it.

I learned English in junior high school for the first time. I studied words and grammar. At the time, I cannot understand, so I’m not good at English. However, I like English teacher, kind woman, so I studied hard English. In high school, I studied English harder than junior high school because I want to take a job using English. So I liked English and I became good at English. But I cannot speak English well, so I want to speak English fluently. In university, I studied English every day. I’m going to go home-stay in Australia in spring vacation.

I chose Spanish from German, French, and Spanish in university. I learned Spanish when I was a freshman. I was taught grammar, greeting, and conversation. I don’t like grammar of Spanish, but I like greeting and conversation. However, Spanish is difficult for me. So I had trouble when I took exam. If there is a chance, I want to study Spanish again.

I have learned many languages until now. I like English, so I’m going to study English very hard every day. I want to speak English fluently, so I will conversation with overseas students. Thank you for reading my essay. Please tell me your language learning experience.

My Favorite Candy

There are a lot of candies. For example, fruit candy, throat candy, not sweet candy, and so on. My favorite candy is fruit candies. I usually have fruit candies. I suck them after a lunch or rest time between classes. Fruit candies have a lot of taste. There are apple, grape, orange, peach, lemon, strawberry, melon, and Muscat. I like Muscat the best. It taste fresh and sweet. I like taste of sweet, so I suck a candy when I want to eat something sweet. Throat candy is good for you when you have a cold. Your pain of throat should reduce thanks to the candy. I recommend you candy of a taste of lemon. I want to eat candy which I had never eaten. [125 words]

My Language Learning Experience

I learned English in junior high school for the first time. It was very hard for me then. However, in high school, I became understand grammar of English. So I liked English and I like it now. I’m good at writing and reading English, but I can’t speak and listen well. I read books in English to read English quickly, but I don’t know how to speak English well. I want to talk with foreigners, but there isn’t chance to do. So I want to go to home stay and I want to speak and listen English. [97 words]

Once upon a time there was a poor miller, who boasted about everything. Sometimes his boasts were true, and sometimes they weren’t. One day, the King rode through the miller’s village. A beautiful girl was standing on the path. The miller said “Her name is Anna. She is my daughter and she can spin straw into gold.” boasting as usual. “In that case, bring her to my castle,” ordered the King, and rode away. The next morning, the miller took Anna to see the King. The King took her to a room. “You have tonight to turn this straw into gold. If you fail, you shall die.” Then he went out and locked the door. She was very confused, but a little man came suddenly. A little man changed straw into gold, so she gave her necklace. The King was glad, but he asked her same thing. A little man came again and change straw into gold, so she gave her ring. The King asked again. A little man came again and changed straw into gold. However she didn’t have anything that she gave him. So she promised him her first born child. The King was glad and married with Anna. A year later, Anna gave birth to a beautiful boy. A little man came and said “Give me the baby.” She refused, so he said “If you can find out my name before then, you may keep the child.” She can’t come up with the name. One day, the King told her a strange tale. The story was about a little man. He came and said “Do you know my name?” Anna said “Perhaps, your name is Rumpelstiltskin?” He said “How did you know that?” He was never seen again. [291 words]

Calliglaphy

My club is calligraphy. we stayed in a camp for practice calligraphy. We went to Nishigoushi. We got together at 3:00 p.m. and listened to explanation. At five, girls started to cook. We made curry rice and hashed rice. We put a lot of vegetable and meet. Boys prepared to practice calligraphy. At six, we ate dinner. I had curry rice. it was delicious. Then we took a bath. I relaxed very much. After bath, we released new officer of our club to senior and junior. I take assistant of accounting. Then we practice calligraphy to exhibit in Takumasai. We back our room and slept. Today we got up at seven thirty. I was very sleepy. I had very fun for two days. I want to go there again. I’m going to have three classes. I will do my best! [140 words]

My Favortie Drink

My favorite drink is milk tea. I often buy milk tea when I’m thirsty and I have a lunch and so on. I like something to sweet, so I like milk tea. I buy milk tea of Lipton or Afternoon tea, Gogonokoutya in Japanese. In KGU, there is a convenience store, LAWSON, so I often buy milk tea there. However, I like also vegetable juice. It is very good because it contains a variety of nutrition. So it is healthier than other sweet juice. Vegetable juices are good when you don’t have time to eat meal. It is easy for you to get nutrition. I recommend you milk tea and vegetable juice. They are reasonable and taste good! Please buy and drink them. [123 words]

Parade

October 2nd, parade was held in the town. We prepared for two months in summer. The day, we were assembled at 5:00 p.m., so we didn’t sleep the day before. We were very tired, but we had very fun at the parade. This photo is sophomore of calligraphy club. I love them!

Hello, everyone. Where is your favorite place? I have a favorite place. It is my home. I live in Kumamoto city with my sister apart from my parents and my brother. However, I like my home in Amakusa better than my home where I’m living now. I will talk you why my favorite place is my home.

My home is on the hill. So I climbed a steep slope by bicycle when I was a high school student. I was very tired, but there are many good things. First, I can see beautiful night view and beautiful stars because my house is on the hill. When I see them, I can relax. I want you to see them. Sadly, I can’t see ocean from there. However, it is enough for you to have fun.

Secondly, I talk about inside of my home. I like living room because I can feel at home there. There is a big sofa in living room. When I was tired, I often took a nap there. It is very happy. I also watch TV with sitting on the sofa. There is a computer in living room, so I often used the computer. I could do everything there, so I like living room.

Thirdly, I like the garden in my house. My mother likes flowers, so she plants seeds of flowers. There are a lot of beautiful flower in the garden. I like to see beautiful flowers. I played sports with my brother and my mother in the garden. My favorite flower in the garden is rose. It is very beautiful. My mother likes, too. There is hoop of basketball and I had basketball. So we shot to the hoop. We also played badminton. The garden is wide that we can play sports. We had very fun.

I like my home very much. However, I’m busy now, so I can’t go home. I want to go home. I want to take a nap and watch TV on the sofa in living room. I'm sleepy

Today’s classes finished already. I’m in the library and I’m very sleepy. I’m going to prepare for exhibition of school festival, Takumasai. Theme of our club is “past, present and future” We paint the board, drive a nail into wood and cut board and so on every day. It was hard, but I had fun. We start at four thirty and finish at nine. Today I have a part-time job at six, so I have to back home early. I’m glad because my mother is going to come my home. I will talk a lot with my mother this evening. [100 words]

My Favorite Junior High Memory

My favorite junior high school memory is a club activity. I belonged to a basketball club. My position was forward. We practiced after school every day. In summer, we hardly had rest, so we were very tired. Practice was very hard. I often thought that I want to quite club, but I continue until retirement. This is because I liked all members of club and basketball. We lost last game, so we cried. However we had no regret because we did our best. We practiced without rest every day. So we felt a sense of achievement. After we finished club activity, we did best to study for an entrance examination. We all passed the exam. I liked all friends of the club until now. [124 words]

My Favorite Travel

My Favorite travel is a school trip in high school. We went to Nagano and Tokyo in winter. We made groups and we had to move each groups. My group is four people, Marina, Nana, Ayaka and me. We were very good friends and we are now too. First and second day, we went to Nagano and skied. I slipped and fell down first day, but I became able to slide well second day. In hotel, we gave an beautiful apple. It was delicious. Final day, we went to Tokyo. We bought many clothes and souvenir for friends and family. It was very very fun time. My favorite high school memory is a school festival when I was freshman. We arranged and showed dominos. We made a lot of devices and connected dominos. We arranged dominos one by one, but sometimes they fell down. So we were annoyed, but we cooperated each other every day. We arranged dominos for shape of school badge. I hardly go to club activity, but I had very fun. The school festival day, we gathered very early morning and we arranged dominos. We could fall down dominos only one time, so we were tensed.
